Backlinks for PR

Now that you have read Part 2.
Mining for Sites

You should be familiar with the two types of backlinks - and - you would've learned that with some backlinks you will use anchor text and some you will be forced to use static URL's which will convert to links when you post.

In this section: I will teach you strategies that you will use to get the most effective backlink placements for your website's PR.

If you followed Part 2. Mining for Sites then you will understand the lists that you seperate backlinks into and the different values these links can have. First I will cover backlinks where the sites you have mined ALLOW you to make anchor text.

Again, I will assume you have read Part 2. so you will have already tested your sites for their value to make sure they allow PR vote. Referring to: rel="nofollow"

Strategies and tactics
The highest priority sites to get your backlinks onto are the sites which allow you to leave anchor text. Find these sites on your list of sites you have mined. Open one of those sites - read through the blog or forum that is on that web page. you will need to make a comment that is cohesive with the rest of the posts taking place. You will get better at this with lots of practice.

The object of this strategy is to get faster at scanning the posts - to cut down on time spent reading through and caught up in the stories and posts. You're on those sites specifically to get a backlink and move on - BUT you want your backlink to have a stickiness or soldification to it. You want your link to be overlooked and allowed to stay by those webmasters - you want it to appear as a part of your post. The more cohesive and on-topic your post is, the more believable it will be.

The Don'ts!
If you try the old = "Hi! I totally agree with the posts above - great comments here on this wonderful forum!" with your link.. the webmasters have seen this old tactic more than you EVER want to know. They see those posts in their sleep , they have removed so many of those posts from PR greedy spammers that the mere first words of that type of post sends frustration seething out of their eye sockets. :) By the way that tactic was known as the "Ass Kiss Spam - from 1998 - 2003"

The Do's
Always read the full post that starts the thread for that blog/forum page - since this is the topic everyone will be responding to. Then scan through the rest of the posts. Decide on your response - and post it. Dont try to be too controversial - you want to be cohesive and 90% transparent - but you want your post to add some weight to the page so it 'feels' as though you're intentionally taking part. Webmasters wont care too much at that point because you're adding content to their blog/forum.

Since ANY links showing up on their pages at all will tip them off - those webmasters know immediately that somebody is trying to get a link there - they dont really care HOW believable you try to make it - they KNOW you're doing it. The key is to do it where they will let it stay because you are adding value to their blog/forum in return by making a post that is relevant. They need those posts to keep their blog/forum popular. This is the 'relationship' you will have with those webmasters. Respect the webmaster rules of the road and your posts will be passed over and allowed to stay.

Here are some suggestions
Passive Transparent Approach
1. try to find a way to wrap the topic of the post into something you can say about your site without alerting that its your site. Example: If we're still using an online computer store as our example .. imagine that the post is about someone asking where they can look online to fix their computer. A few people offer suggestions but you decide to play the transparent passive tactic and you decide that instead of responding directly to the main thread - you will respond to one of the people that have already responded to them..below is a simple example of the Passive Transparent Approach

Main thread - Posted by rmontgomery
Hi - I bought a new computer online about 6 months ago and the piece of junk is already laggy - I think i might have to download the new drivers - has anyone had this problem, or know where I can get the best up to date drivers?

Cpu_dude2008
Whats the serial and model number of the computer? You're asking a pretty vague question expecting a specific answer - if you want to check a list of drivers probably search the msn site or google it- pick the most credible site.

comPrincess
I remember when I had what sounds to be similar issues with drivers when i had my older computer which was a only a 1ghz so I figured why even upgrade if it wont or cant keep up with all the video and streaming content on the web these days - what RAM and processor cpu speed is it? is it Vista or XP OS?

( you ) - reply to comPrincess
comPrincess I think those issues were very common with 1 ghz and under, a friend of mine bought a new one (at the time) had similar problems and the store he bought it from didn't have any answers or tech help for it. he ended up replacing it with a faster speed from http://www.(yourcomputestore).com and they had all the tech support etc. With streaming content on the web I agree you cant really get away with the older slower cpus anymore - which do you all prefer vista or xp ?

Aggressive / Passive or Dr Jeckle - Mr Hyde
In this tactic you will be posting as two people (or get a friend to post something) Use two different computers because webmasters will see youre the same IP and know youre doing it. This will help you to design passive question and responses without looking through all the posts made by others , hoping there's one to go off of. Dr Jeckle and Mr Hyde allows you to design lists of ideas and use them in forums/blogs for the best possible transparent backlinks.

Warning:
Never post the same questions and responses in more than one forum/blog - This will make webmasters ban you immediately because you'll be creating what is called duplicate content on their site and others which can get their site penalized.

Make sure that you dont register, or sign both of these new memberships up on the same day - it will be blatantly obvious.

Types of Backlinks
If the forums allow you to have a signature (usually after making a certain number of posts - then dont worry about making backlinks since the signatures will become your backlinks - you will have to make the required number of posts before your signature becomes active.

When making anchor text backlinks you will use your keywords in a hyperlink (example for brochures) Brochure Printing

If a blog does not allow signatures or the use of HTML hyperlinks or HTML characters - then keep in mind they allow you to enter your name in a name field. On blogs that are set up this way what you will want to do is enter your anchor text into the Name: field - and then enter the URL in the URL / website box. What will happen is that it will make the Name field into a link - so if you are using your keyword instead of your actual name - it creates the link you want with anchor text.

Example:
________________________________

Name:

URL:

Leave your Comment

At other times (mainly blogs) will allow you to leave a static link only. This means in raw text like this: http://www.ezprintsolutions.com

Other ways to generate backlinks is by having other web sites link to your site. To do this, you will have to create something on your site that others may find useful or relating to their site in a way that it helps their visitors.

Examples
Top 10 List/ Reasons for (insert topic)
Organizing large amounts of data into easy to use reference
Free Joke of the Day
Live webcam (watch the birds in a nest etc)

Anything you can think of that may cause other websites to link back to you - OR - that will have others talking about you in forums and blogs and making links to your site.
